Buying Cheap Rack Panels
For those of you who may have a little problem understanding what rack panels are all about, it is pertinent to define what they are right away. A rack panel is a piece of metal (usually flat) that attaches to the front of a threaded bar of a rack. They are used to fill up the spaces left after the installation of racks. As such, they come in various sizes and formats.
There are rack panels that have hinges to aloe them to be placed inside the rack, while others come with a number of holes that serve as air vents for circulation. Then we have a special type called blank rack panels, which are designed to fit the unused vertical space in server racks. Then of course, we also have the custom panels where the panels can be customized according to the user’s requirements.
The panels may look like useless and unnecessary pieces of material, but they are very important. They improve ventilation in a rack, they can be used to provide access inside the rack and provide a structural support for the rack.
Rack mount patch panels are specially designed panels used in the telecommunications sector. They serve to provide conduit points for passage of telecom fibres as part of a fibre management system. There are several wall-mounted varieties of this product. Many wall-mounted rack mount patch panels come with waterproof casings to prevent any contact of water and moisture with sensitive fibre components.
To prevent dust from gathering on sensitive equipment stored on racks, especially computer and networking systems equipment, rack filler panels can be deployed in the gaps between components. Rack filler panels can be replaced.
The panels can be installed on a do-it-yourself basis as most panel manufacturers included self-installing guides.
There are a number of sources where you can get them offline and online. If you desire to get customized versions, many manufacturers will be happy to give you fully customized options to enable you get just what is right for you. In addition to creating customized sizes and functional features, customization options include the use of laser engraving techniques to brand your company name and logo on your rack panels as a form of branded advertising.
